Executive Board Members
President
Margaret has spent the past 20 years, of her 38 years teaching, in Greenwich Public Schools. A Spanish teacher, she spent time in all 3 divisions: 7yrs at RIV, 3 yrs at CMS, and 10 yrs at GHS. She spent 12 yrs as a GEA building rep, serving CMS, and Cantor and Sheldon Houses at GHS. Last year, she joined the GEA Executive Board as chair of the Professional Rights and Responsibilities Committee. Margaret is the current president of GEA.
VP Elementary
Melissa is a Fourth Grade Teacher at Cos Cob Elementary. Prior to her role as the VP Elementary, Melissa served as the second VP.
VP Secondary
Lori Mulligan has taught math in Greenwich Public Schools for the last 25 out of her 32 years teaching. She taught 7th grade math at Central Middle School for 7 years and then at Greenwich High School for the last 18 years. She served on the GEA Executive Board for the 17 years, currently as VP-Secondary and 16 years prior as Treasurer.
VP Communications
Chrissy Distel is a 3rd grade teacher at OG. She has taught 1st and 3rd grades in the GPS district for 20 years. She has served on the GEA Executive Board for the past 7 years as Secretary and VP of Communications.
VP Membership
Jessica is a music teacher at Riverside School. She has worked for the district for 14 years and previously served as a building representative. She has served on the exec board as the Membership Chair and the VP of Membership since 2020.

The Board of Directors is made up of the Executive Board, Committee Chairs and the building Representatives at each school. Building Representatives advocate with the building administration at your school, and are the first people you should contact should you have any questions or concerns. The Board of Directors meet on a monthly basis.
