GEA Scholarship Fund

The Greenwich Education Association awards over $10,000 annually in scholarships to high school graduates.  Recipients must meet the following criteria: be a high school graduate in that year's graduating class, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, be accepted to a college/university, and be the child of a GEA member.  Sixteen out of the 28 GEA Scholarship recipients were seniors in Greenwich High School's Class of 2025.

Why Donate?

The GEA Scholarship Fund proudly supports the bright futures of graduating GPS seniors as they take the next step toward college.  It recognizes their hard work, achievements, and future aspirations. The fund also honors the families of our educators by awarding scholarships to college-bound seniors of GPS teachers.

All qualifying applicants receive an equal award, ensuring fairness and shared opportunity. Through this program, the GEA celebrates the dedication, perseverance, and promise of our students and school community.

That’s why community support is so important - every donation directly increases the number of students we can help and the strength of that support. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our seniors as they begin their college journeys!

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

CHARLIE YOUNG,  GRADUATE GHS, CMS, CCS

I am excited to receive a GEA scholarship and put it toward my studies at Loyola University Maryland. I greatly appreciate all of the hard work my teachers in GPS put in through the years to help me get where I am today, especially my mom.

NOAH BARRETT, GRADUATE GHS, WMS

The GEA Scholarship is crucial for my Biomedical Engineering studies at Carnegie Mellon, as it alleviates significant financial burdens, allowing me to fully focus on coursework and research without overwhelming costs.  My future plans center on service: leveraging engineering principles to solve critical healthcare problems. My aim is to develop efficient, accessible treatments, particularly for underserved communities, a goal deeply driven by empathy from my family’s struggles.  This opportunity, made possible by the GEA and my mother, Cherisse Barrett (HAS), is one I deeply appreciate and will leverage to its fullest potential.

NATASHA SAMANT, GRADUATE GHS

The GEA Scholarship will help me cover textbooks and dorm essentials. My future plans are to complete a degree in engineering. I would like to thank my parents and teachers for their unconditional support!
